Donate Your Vehicle and Help a Child

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What kinds of vehicles can I donate? A: CarDonationsUSA.org accepts all types of vehicles, whether your car's engine still runs or not. We also accept boats, recreational vehicles, travel trailers, fleet vehicles, and real estate. Just give us a call about making a car donation, and we'll make all the arrangements to have your vehicle picked up for free.

Q: Will my auto donation be tax deductible? A: All the charitable institutions and non-profit organizations we support are 501(c)[3] classified. This means that each car donation you make through CarDonations.org qualifies you for a tax deduction.

Q: What documents will I need to make a vehicle donation? A: First of all, you will need to fill out our vehicle donation form. We'll also be requiring you to submit your car title papers. If you don’t have these documents, don't hesitate to call us; we can make other arrangements so that you'll still be able to donate your vehicle to charity.

Q: How will you determine the value of the vehicle I wish to donate? A: The IRS says that car donors can claim a tax donation on vehicles for the lower of its Fair Market Value (FMV) or $500. If we decide to auction it for charity, your tax deduction will match the selling price, should it exceed $500.

If your vehicle donation is valued above $500, CarDonationsUSA.org will see to it that you receive the papers you need to document larger donations.
